What Are Your Rates?
Please contact me for information about my fee. I offer 50-minute sessions, scheduled weekly or sometimes twice a week. Your consistent attendance greatly contributes to a successful outcome.
Do You Take Insurance?
As an out-of-network provider, services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan if you have a PPO, FSA and/or HSA plan. I offer a monthly receipt of service for third party reimbursement. While most insurance companies do not reimburse for couples counseling, you can pay for counseling directly using your account’s credit card if you have a HSA or FSA account. You can check your insurance coverage by calling your provider and asking the following questions:
- What is my deductible? What portion of it has been met, if any?
- Once the deductible has been met, what is the allowed amount per therapy session?
- Once the deductible has been met, what percentage of the allowed amount will I be reimbursed?
How Do I Submit an Out-of-Network Claim?
You can submit a monthly receipt of service to your insurance company directly for reimbursement. If you would like help with doing so, you can use the app Better. If you are not sure if your bill is covered, they will check it for you. They charge 10% of the money you get back beyond the deductible. Simply send your bill to them by email or with a photo via the app each month.
How Long Does Therapy Take?
Therapy is scheduled weekly or sometimes twice a week for a 50-minute session. Each person and couple is different. Some may meet for a relatively short time and others may continue longer-term, depending on needs and interests. I find the best results are made when there is an initial commitment of 10 sessions. This framework allows enough time to create some significant, lasting changes – and can then be updated to continue longer-term if that is useful and of interest to you.
What Is Your Cancellation Policy?
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
What Types of Payment Do You Take?
Payment can be made by credit card using Stripe, an automated processor – or by Venmo, check, or cash prior to or at the start of session.
