What Are Your Rates?

I offer 50 minute sessions, scheduled weekly or sometimes twice a week. Your consistent attendance greatly contributes to a successful outcome. My rates are similar to those of other psychotherapists in the Bay Area with my level of experience and training. You are welcome to contact me for a free 20 minute consultation to discuss further.

Do You Take Insurance?

As an out-of-network provider, services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan if you have a PPO, HSA and/or FSA plan. I offer a monthly receipt of service for third party reimbursement, called a superbill. Most insurance companies do not reimburse for couples counseling. You can pay for individual and couples counseling with HSA or FSA funds, which provides a savings of around 30% as those funds are pre-tax. Or, if applicable, you could take a tax deduction for qualified medical expenses. There is a company called Reimbursify that will submit superbills on your behalf for a small fee. You can check your insurance coverage by calling your provider and asking the following questions:

  • What is my deductible? What portion of it has been met, if any?
  • Once the deductible has been met, what is the allowed amount per therapy session?
  • Once the deductible has been met, what percentage of the allowed amount will I be reimbursed?

How Long Does Therapy Take?

Therapy is scheduled weekly or sometimes twice a week for a 50-minute session. Each person and couple is unique. Some may meet for a relatively short time and others may continue longer-term, depending on needs and interests. After an initial session or two, I find the best results are made when there is an initial commitment of 10 sessions. This short-term therapy framework allows enough time to create some significant and lasting changes. That can then be updated to continue mid to long-term if that is useful and of interest to you. Many of the clients I work with choose to meet for a period of months to years to engage in deeper work over time. For some clients, meeting regularly over longer periods of time can provide the opportunity to explore their inner world in greater depth and scope with ongoing support and guidance. That may be in addition to other forms of awareness practices such as meditation, yoga, writing, conscious movement and/or other embodiment-focused activities.

What Is Your Cancellation Policy?

If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment and you have not notified me at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.

What Types of Payment Do You Take?

Payment can be made by Venmo, Paypal, Zelle, check or major credit card – as well as FSA and HSA card.
